La Posada del Qenti, that corner of peace in the mountains of Cordoba, has just launched a book that promises to make us look with different eyes at that screen that accompanies us at all hours. It is titled «Technologinitis, the syndrome of digital zombies», and its author, Miguel Cané—engineer, coach and manager of the place—is not here to demonize cell phones or ask us to throw them out the window. His approach is more subtle, more human.
With a mix of irony and honesty, Cané asks us uncomfortable but necessary questions: «Who controls who? Do you go to your phone or your phone to you? ». It is not about alarming us, but about waking us up. To remind us that, in the midst of so much virtual connection, something essential is being lost: the connection with ourselves... and with those we love most.
And because change begins at home, La Posada del Qenti presents its new 4-Day Digital Detox Plan for families: a program designed to help parents and children reconnect without screens in between. It includes practical workshops (from how to create "technology-free zones" at home to activities to regain family complicity), psychological and medical support where the only thing that will shine will be the stars... not the screens.
With this book and its new family program, La Posada del Qenti not only reaffirms its commitment to integral well-being, but also offers us a lifeline in the middle of the digital ocean. That guide we need to avoid drowning in likes and notifications, to remember that life also happens - and above all - when the screen is off. A must-read (and an experience) for those who have ever felt that their phone dictates the rhythm of the day... or have seen how it dictates it to their children.
The first step? Close this note, look into the eyes of the person next to you and ask, “What if we tried disconnecting to reconnect?”
