En estas personas su peso no representa un aumento asociado del riesgo de problemas de salud.<\/p>\n<p>Un \u00edndice de masa corporal (IMC)\u00a0de 25,0 a 29,9 es considerado sobrepeso.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Obesidad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan la ubicaci\u00f3n de la grasa corporal total, puede ser central y\/o ginoidea.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan pron\u00f3stico (calculando el \u00edndice de masa corporal total):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Peso (kg)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Altura\u00b2 (mt)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IMC\u00a0de 30,0-34,9 es obesidad clase I.<\/li>\n<li>IMC de 35,0-39,9 es obesidad clase II.<\/li>\n<li>IMC de 40,0 o mayor es obesidad clase III, grave con la presencia de al menos una u otra morbilidad significativa es tambi\u00e9n clasificada como obesidad m\u00f3rbida.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pero como el IMC no tiene en cuenta las diferencias entre el tejido adiposo y el tejido magro, tampoco distingue entre las diferentes formas de adiposidad, algunas de las cuales pueden estar asociadas de forma m\u00e1s estrecha con el riesgo\u00a0 cardiovascular.\u00a0 El mejor conocimiento de la biolog\u00eda del tejido adiposo ha mostrado que la obesidad central (obesidad tipo masculina o tipo manzana) tiene una mayor relaci\u00f3n con la\u00a0enfermedad cardiovascular, que el IMC\u00a0aislado.<\/p>\n<p>Otra forma de clasificar la obesidad, es tomando\u00a0 la circunferencia de cintura absoluta (&gt;102\u00a0cm en hombres y &gt;88\u00a0cm en mujeres) o el\u00a0\u00edndice cintura \u2013cadera, (&gt;0,9 para hombres y &gt;0,85 para mujeres), \u00a0validos para determinar obesidad central.\u00a0Ya que la circunferencia de cintura,\u00a0 explica significativamente mejor que el IMC\u00a0los factores de riesgo para la salud relacionados con la obesidad cuando el s\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lico fue tomado como medida.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Consejos para evitar el sobrepeso y la obesidad<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Llevar una vida saludable<\/li>\n<li>Elegir los alimentos con contenido reducido en sodio, en az\u00facar, en grasas trans.<\/li>\n<li>Mantenernos el mayor tiempo posible en ambientes con entornos saludables, para poder realizar elecciones sencillas\u00a0 en materia de alimentos y actividad f\u00edsica peri\u00f3dica de al menos 30 minutos diarios.<\/li>\n<li>Distribuir los alimentos en 4 comidas diarias.<\/li>\n<li>Moderar el tama\u00f1o de las porciones.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporar legumbres, cereales integrales, semillas y frutas secas.<\/li>\n<li>Consumir 4 a 5 frutas al d\u00eda.<\/li>\n<li>Consumir verduras en cada comida.<\/li>\n<li>Limitar el consumo del alcohol.<\/li>\n<li>Evitar alimentos industrializados.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Dra.
