As an institution dedicated to health tourism, we assume a strong commitment with the care of the Natural Commons, constituting environmental policies in accordance with our service and activity.
La Posada del Qenti was born and grows in the heart of the Valle del Cóndor Provincial Recreational Reserve and from its beginnings it was conceived under strong conservationist convictions that were transmitted throughout the years to all collaborators and visitors, which resulted in a current institutional development with strong sustainable pillars.
We are aware of the privileged environment in which we are located and we make every effort to take care of it so that our guests can enjoy the natural environment that surrounds us to the fullest.
Our Environmental Policies are based on the values of:
Health
Respect for natural processes
Commitment to continuous improvement in environmental management
The following are the good environmental practices that define our commitment to the natural environment that surrounds us.
Purchasing and eco-consumption
Evaluation of suppliers from an environmental point of view.
Conscious use of products, avoiding waste and waste generation.
Reuse of printed paper.
Procurement of bulk or minimally wrapped food products.
Priority is given to the consumption of local and seasonal products.
Water use management
Water is a limited resource and must be treated as such, which is why we apply criteria for its rational use:
Periodic revision of the installations, repairing possible leaks.
Cleaning
The minimum necessary amount of water is used for cleaning tasks.
Use of the correct and fair dosage of cleaning products, since a greater quantity of product does not improve the cleaning result, but only increases the pollutant load of the water.
Irrigation of green spaces
Irrigation is carried out with a low consumption system (non-automated), adapting irrigation frequency to weather conditions and avoiding excessive and unnecessary water consumption.
Landscaping with native species: these are great water savers, since their ecology is adapted to the climate and the availability of local water, so they do not require periodic irrigation for their survival.
Training for personnel and visitors on the rational use of the resource.
Wastewater
They are sanitized with a natural effluent treatment system, where the water is processed with bacterial flora and worms that oxidize organic matter, obtaining contamination-free water. Making it a 100% sustainable process.e.
Responsible consumption
Linen reuse program.
Towel reuse program.
Fair trade
We promote the local economy by acquiring inputs from regional producers, thus supporting the local economy and considerably reducing CO2 emissions caused by the transportation of products.
Energy Efficiency
Four-monthly control of energy consumption.
We make the most of the natural light thanks to the large windows in our inn.
75% of the luminaires are low energy consumption. These include compact fluorescent tubes (CLF), LED lights and T5/T8 fluorescent tubes.
Training for personnel and visitors on the rational use of energy resources.
Maintenance program for lighting systems, avoiding electrical energy losses.
Temperature regulation system in common areas by means of thermostats.
Environmental Education
We transmit and sensitize our visitors about the importance of the natural heritage that surrounds our Posada.
We promote respect and conservation of flora and fauna.
